Dr Michelle Doherty BVSc(hons)
Dr Michelle is an experienced veterinarian with further training in end-of-life care for pets. Dr Michelle was born in a mining town in North Western Queensland. From a very young age, Michelle knew that she wanted to be a veterinarian so had a menagerie of small animals at home during her childhood. When not looking after her own pets, she could be found in the local paddocks tending to her friends’ cattle, horses and small livestock as well. Dr Michelle moved to Brisbane to complete her veterinary degree and upon graduating from the University of Qld with honors, entered mixed practice working in small farming communities in Victoria and in the UK. During her time in these smaller townships, Dr Michelle learned that being a vet meant not only caring for animals, but their owners as well. Dr Michelle returned to Australia to start a family and settled on the Sunshine coast in 2003, where she and her family live and are all active volunteers.
Whilst Dr Michelle enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, her interests involve that of animal behaviour and nurturing the strong human-animal bond that exists between owners and their pets. Dr Michelle is passionate about providing care for both the physical and mental wellbeing of her patients in a calm, stress-free environment. In doing this, Dr Michelle found that at home euthanasia was a way of ensuring our treasured pets received their final care in the place they felt most comfortable, with those they love. Providing this final support for owners and their pets is something Dr Michelle feels very privileged to give the pet owners of her local community.

Dr Dave is an experienced veterinarian with further training in end of life care for pets.
Dr Dave grew up on a farm in Central Queensland surrounded by an assortment of pets and animals which is where he developed a strong bond and empathy with pets. Growing up with animals led Dr Dave to undertake a Bachelors degree in Veterinary Science with Honours at the University of Queensland. Dr Dave has since practised veterinary medicine and surgery in both general practice and emergency before finding that his kind and compassionate nature could help pet owners through their difficult times.
Dr Dave believes that euthanasia can be our final gift to our beloved pets to prevent suffering and ensure their last days are good days. This is why providing this opportunity to Sunshine Coast pet owners is so important to him.
